Xenia, Ohio is in Green County, about 12 miles East of Kettering, Ohio. The area was established in 1803 and was given the name ‘Xenia’, which means hospitality in Greek. Many residents and guests to the area enjoy walking or biking because of its extensive network of walking tails and bike paths. Xenia is also called “The Bicycle Capital of the Midwest”. There are 20 colleges within a 25-mile radius of Xenia which makes it a great area for young adults. Xenia is likely best known for the F5 tornado that struck in 1974. Comedian Bob Hope organized a benefit for Xenia to provide aid after the tornado and because of this, the new Xenia High School Auditorium was named the “Bob Hope Auditorium”.
