Wilmington, Ohio is in Clinton county with a population of 12,520 residents. The town was founded in 1810 and had its named changed to Wilmington in 1811. Fort Ancient Earthworks & Nature Preserve is right outside of town and is one of the largest ancient hilltop enclosures, built 2,000 years ago. The site is one of the seven Ohio sites in a serial nomination of Hopewell Ceremonial Earthworks. Wilmington also offers many state parks that are nearby that residents can enjoy, like the Cowan Lake State Park and the Rocky Fork State Park.
