About Jamestown, OH - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!
Jamestown, Ohio is a small village found in Greene County, and as of 2010 the population was quickly approaching 2,000 residents. This community is part of the Dayton Metro Statistical Area, and it was founded in 1816. It was named after Jamestown, VA, as one of the founders was born in that community. This village is made up of about 1.2 square miles of total area and is located on State Highway 72 just east of Lake Shawnee.
Jamestown is a small community, so there aren’t many attractions located here. However, notable shopping destinations include Wags Pet Spa and Boutique, Something New Florist, and the Jamestown Pharmacy. You can also stop for a cup of coffee at Kelley’s Café and read a book from the Jamestown Community Library. Other attractions are located in nearby communities, such as Beavercreek Golf Club and Woodhouse Day Spa in neighboring Beavercreek.
Jamestown is part of a humid continental climate zone, so residents will get to enjoy four distinct seasons. The year will start with a cold and fairly dry winter, as the community only receives about 26 inches of snow per season. In January, temperatures tend to reach about the freezing point during the day, but overnight lows will plummet. Freezing temperatures will create dangerous conditions both indoors and outdoors, so residents will need to invest in home heating systems in order to stay safe.
The spring months tend to be warm but rainy, and they will lead to a hot and humid summer where severe weather is common. The muggy conditions can be troublesome for people with allergies and other respiratory illnesses, and an energy efficient air conditioning unit at home can improve indoor air quality while keeping temperatures cool. Finally, the autumn months tend to be comfortable, and it is recommended that Jamestown residents take advantage of this time to service their furnace and heat pumps for the upcoming winter.
